Soe was born in Laputta, Ayeyarwaddy Division, Myanmar, on April 19, 1967. His father is a pianist, and his mother is an instructor of traditional dance.

Soe was born in Laputta, Ayeyarwaddy Division, Myanmar, on April 19, 1967. His father is a pianist, and his mother is an instructor of traditional dance.
Soe Soe's artistic talent became evident since an early age. As a young boy, he began nurturing his hobby of painting.
Upon embarking career, he made a decision to devote his life to painting. Soe started painting professionally in 1985, when he was 18. Since then, he has extensively exhibited his artworks both in Myanmar and abroad, including such countries as Belgium, United Kingdom, Nepal, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and the United States.
His works have featured various media. Soe's unusual techniques reflect his innovative spirit in pursuing novelty in each piece of art. Soe exhibited his paintings during the 2004 Myanmar Contemporary Art Exhibition.
Soe Soe is well-known for his unusual technique and works of texture. The vibrant energy of his artworks combines with rich exquisite hues to attract the viewers' attention. The three-dimensional art pieces by Soe Soe make one feels he is physically standing by the picturesque hills in Myanmar.
Throughout his prolific career, Soe has held several group and one-man exhibitions around the world, including the North Okkalapa Art Exhibition, Yangon, in 1996, 1997, 1998; the Whole Myanmar Art Exhibition from The Traditional Artist and Artisan Organization in 2001; Mother Art Exhibition in 2004; "Myanmar Contemporary Art Exhibition", New York, in 2007; "Green Elephant Opening Exhibition" in 2009; "Knokke Art Fair" and "Anticanamur Art Fair", both in Belgium in 2013; the 30th Anniversary Art Journey, Myanmar, in 2015. In 2016, a selection of Soe Soe's paintings was successfully exhibited by Intersections gallery at Art Paris Art Fair.
Soe Soe is as a significant contemporary artist. He is well-received by international collectors and his paintings can be found in both private and public collections in such countries as Singapore, Hong Kong, the United States, and Europe.
In the 2003 Myanmar Contemporary Art Exhibition, Soe was chosen as the top 30 out of 296 artists.
