Soga-no-Akae lived in the 660th. He was a grandson of Umako and son of Kuramaro.
When Empress Regnant Saimei went on an excursion to Muro hot springs in Kii Province (Wakayama Prefecture), Akae was ordered to look after the Court. He persuaded Prince Arima to rebel against the Empress. Then he attacked the prince at his residence and killed the prince's followers as rebels. He was appointed Minister of the Left by Emperor Tenchi (665) and was much trusted by the Emperor. After Emperor Temmu ascended the throne, he was exiled.
