Erdman began his career as a co-manager of options arbitrage at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in 1972. Five years later he took a position of a manager at the same company and held it until 1984. Sol also served as a senior vice president at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. from 1979 to 1984. He is the founder and president of the Center for Collaborative Democracy.
Erdman is a co-author of The Cure for Our Broken Political Process: How We Can Get Our Politicians to Resolve the Issues Tearing Our Country Apart. Erdman’s articles have also appeared in The Los Angeles Times, Newsday, Roll Call, The Boston Globe, and The Chicago Tribune. Erdman has also appeared on dozens of radio shows, including NPR’s Talk of the Nation.
Sol Erdman developed new methods for coaxing elected officials to hammer out sensible agreements on contentious issues.
Erdman founded CCD to refine and disseminate these new methods. CCD is currently focused on providing city and state governments with the tools to develop creative, cost-effective solutions to their critical problems.
