He graduated from Aoyama Gakuin College.
He went to Hawaii and operated four newspapers. He became manager of Tokyo Branch of Morimura Shoji Kaisha (Morimura Trading Company) in 1915. He took over management of The Japan Times (1921). Then he retired in 1932.
Later he served as managing director of Mita Kikai Seisakujo (Mita Machinery Company) and was active in affairs of Rotary International.
