Instructor, Sac City Institute, 1910-1912. Professor of history, Des Moines College, 1912-1918. Professor of history and government, Des Moines U. (union of Des Moines and Highland Park Colls.), 1918-1929.

Became professor of history and government, Pennsylvania College, Oskaloosa, Iowa, 1929, Ottawa (Kansas) University, 1931. Pastor First Baptist Church of Clarks Grove, Minnesota, 1937-1944, retired from active pastorate. President Danish Baptist General Conference of America, and chairman board of trustees, 1937-1939, member board of trustees since 1939.
