Stefano Casertano is an award-winning filmmaker, author and novelist residing in Berlin, Germany.
Education
In Economics and Business from Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli of Rome, and attended the Rai School of television and Radio Journalism in 2004-2005. In 2011 he completed a Doctor of Philosophy "Magna cum Laude" at the University of Potsdam in International Politics.
Career
Casertano heads "Daring House", a movie company focused on the production of art-house documentaries. A former political scientist and journalist, Casertano has been nominated "Italian Young Leader" by the Council for the United States and Italy, and "Junior Fellow" by the Aspen Institute. Casertano holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts He has been teaching at Potsdam University in International Politics since 2009, and in 2012 he spent a period as visiting scholar at Columbia University, at the Middle East Center of the School for International and Public Affairs.
After collaborations with Italian newspapers such as MF Milano Finanza, Finanza & Mercati, Il Tempo, Aspenia, Limes and others, Casertano joined Milan-based business newspaper Linkiesta in 2010, as international correspondent.
In 2012 he started a weekly column on the German newspaper The European, syndicated on RealClearWorld and Project Syndicate. Casertano is a regular guest on the German talk-show "Quadriga" at the English and Spanish editions of the international public broadcaster Deutsche Welle.
He appeared also on British Broadcasting Corporation World Service, SkyNews, RadioRai, RaiTV. In 2012 Casertano founded the movie company "Daring House". His second production, "There Was Once a Sea", has been shot in Israel and tells the story of the disappearance of the Dead Sea.
