Stephen Churchett is an English actor and writer, who is best known for his roles as solicitor Marcus Christie in EastEnders, on and off from 1990 to 2004.

Stephen George Churchett was born on 10 April 1947, in Bromley, Kent, United Kingdom. He is the son of Frank and Joan (Hortin) Churchett.

Education

Churchett received his education at Victoria University of Manchester, graduating from it with a bachelor's degree in 1968.

Career

Churchett made his debut as an actor in 1971 in the film Bleak Moments. Since then, he has been several times in acting roles like Bugs, The Bill, Heartbeat, C.A.T.S. Eyes, Doctor Who, Jubilee, The Professionals, Casualty, Campion, Boon, Hannay, Grange Hill, Specials, Minder, The Detectives, All Quiet on the Preston Front, Pie in the Sky, Hunting Venus, Dangerfield, The Brief, Law & Order UK, Monroe and Peak Practice.

He has also written episodes of The Bill, Kavanagh QC, Inspector Morse, Dalziel and Pascoe, Monsignor Renard and Hornblower, as well as writing the screenplay for Lewis, and appeared in four Agatha Christie's Marple television adaptations as the Coroner (The Murder at the Vicarage, The Moving Finger, Murder Is Easy, Endless Night).

Churchett is currently writing an original pilot for Pinwood Television, working as a writer and actor.
