In preparation for professional practice he entered School of Architecture in Columbia.
Following graduation spent a few years in practical training in the New York office of George B. Post.
In practice for himself until 1928 when he retired, Mr. Colt at one time was associated with the late A. Stewart Barney in designing the Barclay Building, erected at 299 Broadway, also the Emmett Building, 1912, at 95 Madison Avenue.
Mr. Colt was a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Architectural League of New York, and the Union County Society of
Architecture.
