Descendant Ralph Shepard, Massachusetts, about 1640. Bachelor of Laws, Hobart College, Geneva, New York, 1893, later Master of Laws. Bachelor of Laws, Chicago-Kent College of Law, 1895.

Career

Admitted to bar, March 1895, and became connected with office of Shope & Mathis. Assistant Corporate Counsel, Chicago, 1896. Became member Browning & Shepard, 1897.

Democratic candidate for Judge Superior Court, 1905.

Partnership with Robert R. McCormick and South. East. Thomason, 1909. title of firm later Shepard, McCormick, Thomason, Kirkland & Patterson: general counsel for Chicago Tribune, 1910-1919, afterwards with Taylor, Miller, Dickinson & Smith. Now alone. Formerly officer in Chicago Division, Illinois Naval Reserve.
