Parikh was born on September 14, 1973 in Hickory, North Carolina, United States; the son of Shrikant and Suman S. Parikh.
Parikh earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Applied Science from the University of North Carolina in 1995. He was given a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Macromolecular Structure and Chemistry from the Scripps Research Institute.
Parikh began his career as a graduate research fellow at the Scripps Research Institute in 1995. Five years later he took a position of a presidential management intern at National Institutes of Health.Then in 2001, Sudip was appointed a science advisor and professional staff to the United States Senate Appropiations Committee, where he was responsible for negotiating the budgets for the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, BARDA and other agencies.
Also he served as a vice president of Health Policy at Battelle Memorial Institute from 2009 to 2016. In 2010, Parikh held a position of a vice president of AgriFood at the same institute, where led Battelle’s global AgriFood business, which provides research and development services to the AgriFood Industry from laboratories in the United States and Europe. Then in 2011, he became a vice president and general manager of Health & Consumer Solutions at Battelle Memorial Institute. In that role, Sudip led a business unit composed of multidisciplinary teams of scientific, technical and business development professionals.
Since 2016 he has been a senior vice president and managing director of DIA (Drug Information Association) Americas. He leads a multidisciplinary team of over 400 scientists and researchers on a mission to improve and protect the health and well-being of people around the world.
Parikh is an active Board member of several health and science policy organizations, including Research America, the Friends of Cancer Research and the Food Innovation Center. He is a member of the Global Executive Committee and chairs the board of DIA (Drug Information Association) Learning.
