Misheff received a Bachelor of Arts in 1973 and a Master of Arts degree in 1982 from Kent State University. Seven years later she earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the same university.
Misheff began her career as an instructor at Valley Forge Christian College (nowadays University of Valley Forge) in 1979 and held it for a year. In 1982, she took the same position at Malone College, where she worked until 1985. Also Sue served as an instructor at Kent State University from 1982 to 1990.
In 1985, she was appointed a reading specialist at Chapel Hill Christian School-South and held it for five years. Since 1990 Misheff has been an assistant professor of English and education at Malone College.
Misheff is a member of Modern Language Association, International Reading Association, National Council of Teachers of English, Children's Literature Association, International Board Books for Young People, College of Reading Association, Ohio Council of Teachers of English and Kappa Delta Pi.
On October 27, 1973 Sue Misheff married Van Misheff. They have 2 children.
