Sueharu Kitamura graduated from Tokyo Music School (1905).
Career
As head of Mitsukoshi’s music department Sueharu Kitamura did much to harmonize Japanese with Western tunes, besides creating several new melodies, such as "Dreams Under Canvas" and "Solitary Island." Sueharu Kitamura also rendered Western tunes to samisen playing. Later founded Kitamura Music Society at his residence and made efforts to develop new style operas for children.
