Career
He founded the drama producers' group, "Toride-Sha" (1911). He founded a motion picture arts association in 1918 and made his debut on the stage as an actor in "Miyama no Otome" (Remote Mountain Girl). He participated in the foundation of the Tsukiji Little Theater in 1924. Sugisaku produced, and acted as himself, in such dramas as "Hojo-ji Monogatari" (Tale of the Hojo-ji Temple). He also worked as a producer-scenario-writer at the Shochiku Girls' Opera (1933 to 1940). He participated in the establishment of "Haiyu-za" (Actors' Troupe) in 1944.
