Studied from the age of 15 under Mojidayu Takemoto VI, later under Koshijidayu III.
Career
Sumidayu Takemoto has belonged to the group of the Sanwa Party. Was designated as an intangible cultural treasure (1955) as he is the only surviving disciple of Koshijidayu. Noted for his steady acting. His partner and samisen player was Katsutaro Nozawa.
