She is teaching photography as an adjunct assistant professor at Pace University at the College of White Plains, New York, an adjunct instructor at Jersey City State College, New Jersey, and at the New School for Social Research in New York City. She is a documentary photographer.
Katz belongs to the Foundation for the Community of Artists (since 1979), SPE and CAA (since 1977), and is president of Photographers Forum (since 1978).
