Susan Ellen Pashman was born on December 17, 1942, in New York City, New York, United States. She is a daughter of Jonas Charles Greenfield and Pearl (Steinberg) Greenfield.
Pashman received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the New York University in 1963. She became Master of Philosophy at the Columbia University three years later. She obtained Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Brooklyn Law School in 1982.
In 2008, Pashman got a certificate in landscape design from the Harvard University.
Pashman began her career at the Adelphi University, where she became an instructor in philosophy in 1966, staying at that position for 12 years. From 1977 till 1979, Pashman served as a director of Humanities Project at the New York State Council for the Humanities. For 6 years from 1985, Pashman worked as an attorney in New York City. She was also a director of Public Access Continuing Education in Sag Harbor, from 1992. Three years later, Pashman was appointed as a writer-in-residence at the Vermont Studio Center. She also participated at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program. Pashman was a member of Writer’s Voice of the West Side Young Men’s Christian Association.
Additionally, she held the position of a lecturer in philosopy and ethics at the Hamptons Library. For a year from 2008, Pashman worked as a professor of landscape aesthetic at Harvard University Landscape Institute. She served as a professor of landscape aesthetics at the Boston Architectural College from 2009.
Pashman offered summer visitors to the Hamptons an opportunity to use vacation time for intellectual growth. She developed SUMMERFEST, an adult education program of 35 intriguing new courses each summer for 18 years.
Currently, Pashman is engaged in writing. Among her books there can be mentioned a novel Man in Space, a collection of essays Workshop Anthology, a book A Journey to a Temple in Time: A Philosopher’s Quest for the Sabbath, as well as a philosophical novel The Speed of Light and a novel Upper West Side Story.

2015Pashman is a member of the Ashawagh Hall Writers’ Circle, the Jimmy Ernst Artists’ Alliance and the Phi Beta Kappa.
Susan was married to Loius Jonathan Pashman from September 17, 1964 till their divorce in February 1977. On October 7, 2007, she married Jack M. Weinstein. Pashman has two sons from the first marriage - Joshua and Benjamin.
