She was elected President of the Senate of Kansas in 2011. Wagle has a bachelor"s degree from Wichita State University. From 1979-1982 she was a teacher in the Wichita Public Schools.
She then became involved in real-estate investment.
She was elected to the Kansas House of Representatives in 1990 and to the Kansas State Senate in 2000. She was elected Senate president on December

A cancer survivor, she is the Kansas Senate"s first female president, and the first Senate president from Wichita.
