He usually plays supporting roles. Terajima is best known for his portrayal of yakuza figures, most notably in the films of Takeshi Kitano. Terajima was born in Tokyo, Japan.
He made his acting debut in 1986"s A Homansu.
He is part of Office Kitano, the production company of Takeshi Kitano. Terajima starred in Kazuyoshi Kumakiri"s 2001 film Hole in the Sky.
He appeared in Takashi Miike"s Ninja Kids!!! in 2011.
