Education
While yet a child took interest in literature and contributed essays and poems to boys magazines.
Career
After graduating from Kyoto Prefectural Medical School, moved to Tokyo where he became associated with Suimei Kawai. Besides practising medicine wrote poems for Myojo. Came into prominence with the publication of his first book of poems titled Kujaku-bune (ship of peacocks). His new style of poetry won him great fame. Later retired from the literary world to live in Kohama, Toba from where he moved to Formosa. A collection of his works is included in "Complete Works of Modern Poets."
