Tachibana no-Morikuni was born in 1679 in Osaka, Japan.
Tachibana was an artist who belonged to the Kano school. Although he was not strictly a ukiyoe artist, he was connected closely with that genre of picture and was responsible for many books of picture prints. Later Tachibana fell in line with the early ukiyoe artists. His prints of portraits, landscapes, flowers and birds are precise and minute in detail. Tachibana's productive period is limited to only the Kyoho Era (1716-1736).
