Tadashi Uematsu was born in 1906 in Chiba Prefecture, Japan.
In 1929, Tadashi Uematsu graduated from Psychology Department of Nihon University. Later he graduated from Tohoku University where he majored in law (1935).
Upon graduating from Psychology Department of Nihon University in 1929, Tadashi Uematsu began teaching psychology at his alma mater. He served as procurator and judge of the Tokyo Criminal and Local Courts.
Tadashi Uematsu became assistant professor in 1941 and then professor in 1944 of Taihoku (Taipeh) University. After the war was appointed procurator of the Tokyo Court of Appeal and lecturer at Tokyo University. He became professor of Law Department, Hitotsubashi University. Author of "Outline of Criminal Law," "Folk-Customs and Crime" and "Various Phases of Psychological Jurisprudence."
