Tai-yen Chang

Chang Tai-yen participated in the First Revolution of 1911. He served as an advisor to the President of China, then Yuan Shih-kai, in 1912 and was imprisoned by Yuan for outspoken criticisms against him. Mr. Chang joined the Southern Military Government in Canton from 1917 to 1918. Owing to advanced age, he was long in retirement, formerly living in Shanghai but later in Suzhou.
