He studied waka under Yiimei Ito and then Seifii Takasaki.
Career
Taiji Oguchi was appointed a Commissioner of the Imperial Poetry Bureau (1906). Organized the Chigusa Society, with 50,000 members, for the purpose of popularizing waka. Participated in the compilation of collections of poems by Emperor Meiji and Empress Shaken.
