Takakiyo Todo was born on October, 19 in 1837 in Japan.
Successfully defended the gates of Imperial Palace as head of his clan soldiers during the Battle of Hamaguri-mon (1864).
After that made several visits to Kyoto together with his father in efforts to call a halt to the internecine war between the Imperial Court and the Shogunate. After the Meiji Restoration (1868) was made governor of Tsu Clan (1871) and then created Count. He was appointed commissioner for the Imperial Pageant of Poetry.
Takakiyo Todo was well versed in history.
