Background
Takanobu Ryūzōji was born in Japan, 1529. The eldest son of Ryûzôji Chikaie and a great-grandson of Ryûzôji Iekane. His father was killed by Baba Yorichika in 1544.

Takanobu Ryūzōji was born in Japan, 1529. The eldest son of Ryûzôji Chikaie and a great-grandson of Ryûzôji Iekane. His father was killed by Baba Yorichika in 1544.
At around age of 18 he returned to secular life and in 1548 became the head of both main branches of the Ryûzôji house (following the death of Ryûzôji Tanehide). He recovered Saga Castle (1553) and subsequently enlarged his territory.
Takanobu personally led an army of around 30,000 against the Shimazu-Arima, but was killed in the Battle of Okitanawate.
