He graduated from Tokyo University (1926). Was conferred a doctorate in engineering (1941).
Takahashi Takeo joined the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and was appointed engineer at its Chemical Industry Research Institute (1930). Later was professor at Keijo (Seoul) University, Korea.
After World War II, returned home to become professor at his alma mater (Tokyo University). He was a director of Japan Analytics and Japan Chemists societies. Among his works are "Marine Plants Industry" and "Acetylene".
