Yoshizawa, Takumi was born on October 15, 1942 in Suwa, Nagano, Japan. Son of Jitsuo and Fujiko (Hiraide) Yoshizawa.

Assistant professor Kagawa University, 1971-1982, associate professor, 1982-1986, professor, since 1986, regent, since 1994. Professor United Graduate School Agriculture Ehime University, since 1986. Visiting scientist University Minnesota, St. Paul, 1978-1980.
