Career
Shortly after his marriage, he was found to be a leper and separated from his wife. In 1934, he was admitted to the Zensei Byoin leprosarium in Tokyo where he wrote "Life’s First Night" which dealt with the sufferings of lepers. After it was accorded a sensational reception, he wrote a number of stories about life in his leprosarium. "Life's First" Night was accorded a prize of the Bungakukai Magazine.
