Teishō Tsuga was born in 1718 in Japan.
Teishō Tsuga was formerly a physician at Tem ma in Osaka but due to a restlessness in his nature gave up his profession and became a strolling fortuneteller and wrote his own version of famous Chinese novels, which were later rewritten by Bakin Takizawa. Said to be a skillful calligraphist and a painter, Akinari Ueda once studied under him.
