Cuban born Tereza Ortega-Franco, began career as Paralegal at age 18 and founded SFV's Legal Literacy for the Community in 1995; was pioneer in becoming a non-governmental Disaster Management professional authoring the 2011 article, 'Managing Disasters in Unpredictable Times';TV Producer of her international program 'SafeTea'; started a walking club in 7 beach cities and devotes her time to passionate causes making her a philanthropist by nature.
Background
Ortega-Franco, Tereza was born in Havana, Cuba. In 1959, Young Teresita emigrated with her parents and siblings, becoming independent only eight years after arriving in America. On her road to self discovery, Tereza engaged in interesting work, education, delightful endeavors, worthy causes and travel. In 1992, Tereza married Manuel L. Curry III, div.1999.

Tereza excelled in her courses at Hawthorne High School graduating one year early. Her leadership skills where displayed as campaign manager of the first Latina became Homecoming Queen. Ms. Ortega-Franco went on to attend college, university (formal and informal education) and devoted to a lifetime of continued learning until the end of her journey.
