Everyone in Big Iron knew how vicious Gabe Hawks could get when he was drunk. But Gabe was the son of a powerful rancher, and when Marcy Clayborne accidentally killed him in self-defense, the powerful Fallen Skull Ranch and the town wanted to hang her with no questions asked. When she ran away, three savage cutthroats were sent after her with orders to kill her. If they didn't find her, someone else was sure to — and Marcy's cool, unfriendly ways did not endear her to the town. Socrates Smith, part-time deputy sheriff of Big Iron, thought the girl was innocent. But with thirty guns against him, would he get the chance to prove it?

Back in El Paso no one ever accused ex-cavalryman Troy Banner of being overly heroic or steadfast or even friendly. He was just known for his good aim and his bad temper, and most smart men steered clear of him. But Lance Kinnion had once saved Troy’s life. So when Lance asked Troy to rescue his fiancée from some Mexican kidnappers, Banner gave it his best shot. Yet he knew he was crazy to do it. For if the hostile Indians between El Paso and Mexico failed to kill Troy, the border bandits were sure to succeed. And even if they failed, there was no chance of saving the girl or himself from the clutches of her captor. Because no one, no one, escaped from the cruel, deluded self-styled general known as Copa.

(As Brian DeClay rode to Twin Forks, he was determined to ...)
As Brian DeClay rode to Twin Forks, he was determined to kill Sid Locklin, the man responsible for his father's death eight years before. Henry DeClay and Sid had been partners in a freight line—till the very day Sid shot him. Brian was only a kid at the time, but he had vowed to avenge his father. Much bigger and tougher now, young DeClay made his way through town without being recognized. Things had changed. A syndicate was trying to take over Sid's freight line, and Brian should have rejoiced at the vicious tactics they used against his father's old enemy. Yet suddenly, despite his pent up hate and vows, he found himself helping the very man he had sworn to kill!

Dr. Dean Chance was running away from his old life when his trail crossed Flintlock. But he tried to hang on to his old belief that there was no excuse—none—for killing another man. Things got all mixed up, though, when Chance befriended Gordy Ryan and his sister-in-law, Jocelyn—and then got on the wrong side of Hunk Ashworth, the greedy rancher who was trying to grab the Ryans’ land for himself. Suddenly the young doctor had to use his wits and his fists to save his friends' skins. And then, in a strange twist of fate for a man dedicated to preserving life, Chance was left with no choice but to deal out death himself. If it wasn’t already too late.

Branded! That's what the McCains were. After the womanizing father of five boys kills an upstanding citizen, the people of Rio Blanco not only hang him, but they condemn the offspring as well. Then Trace McCain saves Melanie Kendall, the niece of the man his father killed. The sparks that fly between them are not from hate, but from a mutual affection. With an unforgiving father, the romance is doomed … until a gang of ruthless killers come calling. Threatened with the destruction of their town, the only hope of the people in Rio Blanco hinges on the very men they have ostracized. Trace and his brother, Charo, are the best prepared fighters in the valley. But their own resentment runs deep for their treatment. Mac Avery had tamed the town of Dry Wells, Wyoming some time back. Yet, though he still owned the bank there, he was living a new life in the small town of Mona, in a neighboring state. Life had been good and peaceful in Dry Wells, until a small Syndicate moved in with an eye on taking over the valley and also Avery's bank. They were willing to kill Mac and his best friend, who managed his bank, to get what they wanted. Not killing Mac was their first mistake. When he returns to Dry Wells, he intends to even the score – no matter what the odds. Suffering an early setback, Dace Hollister arrives to stand at his side. The two of them make a formidable army, which is exactly what they will need to even the battle field!

(The new job in California sounded laid-back and peaceful ...)
The new job in California sounded laid-back and peaceful to Mace Banyon, ex-deputy U.S. Marshal. He had been hired by an eastern land corporation to supervise and collect payments from tenant farmers. But the sharecroppers – honest, hard-working Chinese – all had bottomland farms with irrigation. They were both envied and resented by the dry farmers in the valley. Mace found himself caught between the hostile farmers and townsmen, who were headed by a vicious, land-grabbing banker, and the almost defenseless Cantonese workers. When a drought threatens crop failure, tension and violence increases. It isn't long before Mace Banyon's 'peaceful' job explodes into a killing war!

Boone Lucane wasn't the fastest gun in the family, but no one could match him when it came to tracking or hunting. That's why he is chosen to rescue his eight-year-old cousin, Eric, when he's kidnapped. Even pairing up with Race Lucane – whose gun is almost as quick as his dry wit – there is little chance for the two of them to find anything on this dangerous mission, except a quick death. Not only do the bandits have a week's head start, but they get into trouble before reaching the border. Death is at every turn, with Boone forced to use all of his skills, not only to survive, but to rescue and save the life of an unfortunate victim and prevent Eric from being sold into slavery and lost to the family forever.

But he must go to Clearwater, Texas, for he has promised Will Mallory, a dying Confederate soldier, to take some money to his wife. While Travis delivers the money, then helps the young widow rebuild her cattle herd, it isn’t the Texans who harass him. With the help of his Cheyenne friend, Little Smoke, McCord agreed to escort Kimberly to the bandit town of Devil's Gap to save the honor of a man dear to her heart. A drifter since the war, Lane hoped to start a ranch with the money Kimberly would pay him. But in all his years of riding, he had never met anyone as green and clumsy―or as feisty―as the Fighting McBride. What McBride didn’t know about horses or trails or the West could have filled ten encyclopedias. But McBride was one stubborn critter. And after McBride’s horse was killed―and it turned out McBride and Ty Kolher were going in opposite directions, McBride stole Ty’s horse three separate times. Finally, Ty got the upper hand and applied it to the seat of McBride’s britches and then their misadventures really began.

Matt Scofield tried real hard to stay out of other people’s squabbles. He’d had enough fighting in the War Between the States and later in Mexico. As he rode toward his hometown, all he wanted was peace. So now, as he neared Liberty, Kansas, he tried to ignore the old farmer who was being beaten by three men wearing badges. He tried to ignore the way the trio were harassing the farmer’s daughter. But Matt could just stomach so much. Tazz Cantrelle, known for his way with a gun, had been sent to Yuma Prison for standing up to a crooked lawman. Every day spent there with dangerous killers and vicious guards was like a century in hell. So when Tazz was given the chance to leave, he could not refuse. All he had to do was become the sheriff of Whitewater, Arizona. That was like taming twenty angry bears single-handed, for it was a wild town where miners and ranchers and thieves were at war with each other. In recent years, no sheriff had lasted very long in Whitewater. But Tazz was determined to make everyone behave if it killed him. And it probably would.

He soon learned his ranch had been taken over by vicious, powerful Starr Albright, who had also married the girl Wayne loved. For Dave Brenteen, it was like standing between the branding iron and the fire. A killer was running loose, a man deemed the Night Prowler, had attacked four unsuspecting women and had murdered his lifelong friend. On the flip side, after killing Hyde Spangler's son, the man had vowed to have blood vengeance. Toss in a woman he had loved, but married his rival; a school teacher, who just might mend his broken heart; and accepting the job of deputy to the town sheriff he had known for years.
