Career
After working at Tokyo University as a research assistant, he was appointed professor at Tohoku University. He has been studying the structure of legal systems in the middle ages from a socioeconomic viewpoint. Among his books are the "Preface to the Formation of Feudalism" and "Legal Structure of Feudalistic Society."
