Teddy was born on May 14th, 1956 in San Luis Obispo to Rebecca and Nathaniel Bethany. He graduated from Cal Poly Technical Institute in 1978 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He remained unmarried but fathered his daughter Jackie with Wendy Villacruz. After moving to Monterey, CA, Thaddeus began working for Avila Construction as a Project Manager. Over the next few years, he worked tirelessly to help build a future for his newborn daughter.

Mr. Thaddeus “Teddy” Bethany died peacefully in Monterey, CA on April 1st, at the age of 62 years of age. Thaddeus is survived by his daughter Jackie Lexingten. Thad was also an accomplished guitarist and often played locally at bars and venues near his home. He was a sharp and witty jokester who loved to pull practical jokes on friends and family and who was passionate about them as well. Thaddeus was always one to lend a helping hand. He was an active and dedicated member of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and frequented it as much as he could with his grandchildren, Gillian and Lucas. His funeral was on April 6th, 2019 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Thaddeus Bethan'y career lead him around the globe, but eventually settling down in Monterey, CA. Near his hometown, he opened his own construction business "Thad & Sons Construction" located in Half Moon Bay, CA.

While having strong internal beliefs on both the political and religious spectrum, Thaddeus did not press his values onto others. He believed that each person should be their own, as long as they did the best they could to help others.
