LLOYD, Thomas Francis was born on April 21, 1839. Son of Thomas Lloyd of Beeclunount, Justice of the Peace for counties of Clare, Limerick, and Tipperary, D.L. for Company Limerick, grandson of Thomas Lloyd of Beechmount, D.L., Member of Parliament for Company Limerick.

Studied at Cheltenham College.
Career
Ensign, 98th Regiment (Prince of Wales’s), 1855. Served in North-west Frontier campaign, 1860. Action of Poluteen, forcing the Burrarah Pass, and taking of the stronghold Makin (medal and clasp).
Commanded the 98th P. of W. Regiment for 5£ years. Commanded the 2nd Regimental District 5 years, and was Assistant Adjt. and Quartermaster-General Cork District for 4 years, when he was promoted Major-General. High Sheriff, 1894. Justice of the Peace, D.L., Company Limerick; retired.
