Fairbank, Thomas John was born on June 26, 1912 in London. Son of Harold Arthur Thomas and Florence Kathleen (Ogilvie) Fairbank.


Bachelor of Arts with first class honours, Trinity College, Cambridge, 1934. Bachelor of Medicine, B. Chir., St. Thomas's Hospital, 1937.

Consultant orthopaedic surgeon United Cambridge Hospitals and East Anglian regional, 1949-1977, Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, since 1977.
