Career

Vice-President Sri Lanka Freedom Party 1966, since 1981. Member of Parliament for Kolonnawa 1967.

Responsible for nationalizing foreign oil companies in Sri Lanka.

Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade 1970-1977, Public Administration, and Home Affairs September 1975-1977. President Sri. Lanka Mahajana (People"s) Party 1984-1986.
