Todo Yoshimasu studied to be a doctor under Yujun Nozu, disciple of his father.
Moving to Kyoto (1738) Todo Yoshimasu made efforts to revive ancient systems of healing but did not meet with much success till he was recommended by Toyo Yamawaki, a promenent physician during the early Horeki Era. Later with the publication of his book "Idan" (Medical Diagnosis) medical practitioners began to admit his bona fides.
