Career
After graduating from Tokyo University Torajir Ikeda was appointed a probationary judicial officer in the Tokyo District Court and then Councillor in the Ministry of Justice. Later was sent to Europe and America and also to China for inspection. Returning home became public procurator of Supreme Court, director of civil affairs bureau in Ministry of Justice and then president of Supreme Court (1936). Was fond of learning and in his time was instructor at several universities. Was director of Law Investigation Institute, of the temporary Legislative Council. Contributed much towards the revision of the civil and trade laws.
