  • Achievements include research in chemistry of connective tissue, physical properties, physiological functions, turnover and medical applications of the polysaccharide hyaluronan (hyaluronic acid), ophthalmic biochemistry, physical chemistry of polysaccharide networks, transport processes in polysaccharide solutions, biochemical separation techniques (e.g. a theory of gel filtration) and methods for cell separation.
