Pari Spolter was born on January 30, 1930, in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran. She is the daughter of Mehdi and Massi Naraghi.
Spolter earned her Licence es Sciences Chimiques mention Biologiques at the University of Geneva in 1952 and her master's degree and a doctorate at the University of Wisconsin in 1959 and 1961, respectively.
Spolter started her career by teaching at the University of Tehran from 1952 to 1957. She then served as a postdoctoral fellow and instructor at Temple University in Philadelphia in 1961. In 1965, she started working as a research biochemist at the U.S. Public Health in San Francisco.
Since 1988, Spolter is a freelance writer and founder and publisher at Writer. Orb Publishing Co. at Granada Hills, where she currently lives.

Spolter is married to Herbert Spolter since August 16, 1958. The couple has 2 children, David and Deborah.
