Toshihiko Takeda was born in 1891 in Kagawa, Japan.
His early youth was beset with adversity and he had to work his way through Waseda University, which he left without graduating to become a reporter for the Mainichi Shimbun (newspaper ) at Osaka.
Toshihiko Takeda abandoned newspaper work for the theatrical world and joined the Shinkokugeki Theatrical Troupe to head their literary section.
An established writer of repute, he first wrote social dramas and then turned to popular fiction. Outstanding among his literary achievements are "Fog of Time" and "Woman Judges Man".
