Toyonobu Ishikawa studied art under Shigenaga Nishimura and soon became a noted painter of pictures of the gay quarters and of romantic poses.
Career
Until about 1764 Toyonobu Ishikawa was the foremost painter but soon lost ground to Harunobu Suzuki, who outclassed him.
