Career
Born in the village Újtohán/Tohanul Nou (now part of Zărneşti), in Austria-Hungary, Moşoiu went to the "Andrei Şaguna " Highschool in Braşov, then studied at the Budapest Military School and Theresian Military Academy in Vienna, from which he graduated on June 1, 1889. In 1891, Traian Moşoiu moved to Romania and joined the Romanian Army ranks. He saw action in the military campaign in Bulgaria during the Second Balkan War and on October 1, 1913, he was appointed commander of the 30th Regiment Vânători at Câmpulung, holding the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
