She joined in August 2005 along with Tara McLeod. In addition to bass, she has also played guitar since the age of 13. On June 28, 2007 Doan announced that she would be taking a hiatus from Kittie, "due to pressing personal health matters".
Her stand-in replacement for the Sweet Revenge tour would be Jeff Phillips from Thine Eyes Bleed.
On March 4, 2008 it was officially announced that Doan had left the band Kittie due to the eating disorder Anorexia-Athletica-Nervosa that she had been struggling with for almost two years. On February 13, 2012 Kittie announced that Ivy Vuijic was resigning the band and that Trish Doan was back.
