Tsunetaka Tosa was born in 1250 in Japan.
Tsunetaka Tosa, and later artists of the Tosa clan claimed him as the founder of their school, although there is no proof of any lineal relationship between them. He painted the shoji (sliding screen) of the Imperial Palace during the Kencho Era (1249-1255).
No work of Tsunetaka remains today.
