Ursula Jauch was born on March 16, 1959, in Zurich, Switzerland.
Ursula Jauch entered the University of Zurich in 1979. In 1989, she received a Doctor of Philosophy degree. She achieved habilitation in 1996 with a thesis on Julien Offray de La Mettrie.
Ursula Jauch started her career as a lecturer at the University of Zurich in 1987. She held this post until 1991 and in 1992 she went to the United States where she received a scholarship from Getty Research Institute. In 2003 she took up a post of a professor of philosophy at the University of Zurich. In addition to academic work, she worked as a presenter for Swiss Radio DRS. Jauch served as a show presenter at Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen from 2006 to 2009. She also worked as a Journalist at the Neue Zürcher Zeitung from 1989 to 2010.
Ursula Jauch published her first book Immanuel Kant zur Geschlechterdifferenz in 1988. Later she published such books as Damenphilosophie & Männermoral, Jenseits der Maschine, Beat Fidel Zurlauben, 1720–1799. Jauch is the author of numerous articles and book chapters, as well.

1990Ursula Pia Jauch's main interest is the philosophy of the 18th century, especially the early Enlightenment, and the question of gender difference. She attempts to make a feminist interpretation of Kantian Enlightenment thought on gender and seeks the presuppositions of feminist thinking in the Enlightenment critique of prejudices. Jauch validates irony as a philosophical method and defends humor and cunning as tools for feminist critique.
Ursula Pia Jauch was a member of the jury of the Tractatus Prize for Philosophical Essay Studies from 2009 to 2014.
