Graduated from Mathematics, Science & Chemistry Department of Tokyo Normal School (1917).
Became assistant professor (1918) and then professor (1925) at his alma mater. Appointed shtokutoku. (technical associate) of Tokyo University (1920). Studied in Germany, England, Hungary and U.S.A. as overseas research student of Education Ministry (1926-29). Became dean of students at Tokyo University of Science & Literature (1931), school inspector of Education Ministry (1941), president of Nara Women’s Higher Normal School (1945) and became president of Aichi Gakugei Daigaku (Aichi University of Arts & Sciences) (since 1949). Books include Butsurigaku Jiyu (Mastery of Physics) and Denjikigaku Yoron (An Iritroduction to Electromagnetism).
