In 1996 Uta was a finalist at the Int’l Poets Symposium in Wash. DC. The award was a book for my poem ‘Reconciliation’ (The Jew and the German), which received rave reviews. It was my first book, and I titled it “The Truth Seeker”.
Uta was honored in 2004 as a ‘Woman of Success’ by IMPACT for Enterprising Women (on whose Board I have been serving), and I founded ‘International Friends of Germany’. In 2004, followed by the ‘AZ Consular Women’s Auxiliary’ in 2007, after my husband retired as Hon. German Consul for AZ in 2002. She felt honored - when as the first foreigner – named an ‘Outstanding Young Woman of America’.
