Utakuni Hamamatsu

Background

Utakuni Hamamatsu was born in Osaka in 1776. The business of his family was cotton clath transactions.

Career

Although he was listed as a Kabuki playwright, around 1800, he mainly engaged in historical researches for Kabuki plays. Also wrote essays.
