Education
After graduating from high school in the village of Semiluki in Voronezh region in 1949, he entered the philosophy faculty of Moscow state University named after M. V. Lomonosov. Finished MSU in 1954, than entered the postgraduate study of the Literary Institute named after A. M. Gorky.
Career
Valentin was a poet, writer, scientist, and public figure. The first poetic book "The city after a rain", published in 1959 in the publishing house of the Komsomol "Young guard", a special resolution of the Bureau of the Komsomol was banned as "ideologically vicious and revisionist." Only two years later the same publishing house published the book "the House of my childhood". Then came the collection of poems: "Test love "(1965)," Emshan "(1969)," Bright autumn" (1971). His poems reflected "love for Russia, deep respect for its history, a sense of connection of times, the search for a moral ideal" (Valentin Sidorov. "Emshan", Moscow, 1969, p. 2). Since 1974, in the poetry of VM Sidorov appear motives inspired by familiarity with the work of the outstanding artist-thinker N. K. Roerich. They appeared in the books "The way of love" (1975), "the Himalayan garden" (1976), "Belovodye" (1978), "the Wanderer" (1980), "The key" (1982) and others. Wide popularity was brought by V. M. Sidorov novels and essays "On the tops (biography N. Roerich, told by himself and his contemporaries)" (1977), "On the Roerich route "(1979)," Seven days in the Himalayas "(1982)," Handshake at a distance "(1986),"Bridge over the stream "(1988)," Against the current "(1992)," Signs of Christ " (1992). V. M. Sidorov compiled the first book of poems in Soviet times N. K. Roerich under the title "Writing" (1974), the book of literary works of the artist "Elected" (1979). Since 1974 he had contacts with S. N. Roerich. From the very beginning, he was a member of the Commission on cultural and artistic heritage N. K. Roerich at the State Museum of the East (October 1984). In 1987, V. M. Sidorov head of the Commission on the literary heritage of N. K. Roerich at the Union of writers of the USSR. In 1989 he was elected President of the All-Union Association "Peace through Culture" (since 1991 — international Association "Peace through Culture"). Sessions of the World Congress of Spiritual Harmony, numerous conferences, round tables, meetings of spiritual leaders were held on the initiative of V. M. Sidorov and under his leadership. Founder of the social movement "New country" (1995). In 1990 he published two volumes of selected works, in 1999-2001 in the publishing house "Fiction" — a collection of works in 5 volumes. On some of the poems, V. M. Sidorov has written songs that run the Voronezh state Russian folk choir. In 2006, a memorial stone dedicated to the poet was elected on the hill above the Don in Semiluki, Voronezh region. On the granite monument Board " Faithful son of the Fatherland-poet, philosopher, our countryman Valentin Mitrofanovich Sidorov (1932-1999)."
